M.G. Currie & Company has created LCC models for common types of mobile equipment. They include over 150 individual tasks detailed to hierarchical position, operation description, job type, units and benchmark repair intervals. These models are loaded with representative parts cost and labour data to populate a detailed budget projection by major and sub-component group for the life of the machine. The models also calculate labour requirement by period, as well as mechanical availabilty.
Each model includes a maintenance plan set in an organized physical hierarchy, and allows for operating inputs such as fuel consumption and operator costs. Capital can be represented either as a one time cash cost or as a monthly expense on a declining balance. All inputs can be adjusted for inflation. The result is a dynamic model that can be modified to represent site-specific operating conditions, risks and costs.
These plans are commonly used to support feasibility studies, fleet selection, MARC contract estimating and as benchmarks to evaluate current fleet cost performance.
